Lodging indicators positive for first half of 2019
Lodging data recently released by Visit NC shows that commercial lodging in North Carolina has once again broken a half-year record in terms of total room demand.

North Carolina year-to-date demand growth outpaces the South Atlantic region (+0.6 percent) and U.S. demand growth (-0.5 percent). Since 2000, year-to-date demand through June in N.C., meaning the number of commercial room nights sold of more than 18 million, has grown 38 percent in 19 years.

Sculpture Walk at Chetola with Events all Weekend
Over 50 large, mid-scale and small sculptures will be exhibited August 9th - 11th on Chetola Lake.  The Public is invited to stroll around the lakeside at Chetola Resort to meet renowned sculptors and view their award-winning works of art. Activities all weekend long create a family friendly destination. Special evening events feature art Icons, Bob Timberlake and Joe Miller on Friday night 6:30-9:30 pm.

Middle Fork Greenway Check Drop Off Party
Wednesday, August 14, from 5 - 7 pm
Free admission to Mystery Hill, All Welcome

Bring your kids, invite your staff! All Mystery Hill attractions will be open with free access!  Here is the link to our Check Drop Off Party Facebook Page.  

We will meet up on Tomahawk Hill where you can get your photo taken at the photo booth, and learn how to throw a Tomahawk!!!  Group photo and Greenway progress updates at 5:45 pm. 

FOOD: Mystery Hill will provide tasty treats from each of their represented iconic High Country brands: Hole Lotta Doughnuts, Hatchet Coffee, Check Farmstead Creamery, and Appalachia Cookie Company.  Booneshine Brewing and Lost Province Brewing Co. will provide beverages.  Live Music from The Neighbors 

PARKING: You can park at Tweetsie Railroad and walk the Middle Fork Greenway to Mystery Hill. We highly recommend doing this, especially if you've not been on the trail yet! As soon as you turn in to Tweetsie RR, turn left into the first parking area. The greenway is in between the parking lot and Hwy 321. It's less than a 5-minute walk.
