SAVOR More . . .

TASTE! will be held April 20th, 6 - 8 pm and is a culinary compilation showcasing many of the Blowing Rock and High Country restaurants. Restaurants will serve small plate sized portions of some of their signature dishes. North Carolina produced beers, wines and other beverages will also be available for tasting.

NEW THIS YEAR: we have hired an amazing dance band, Carolina Soul!

There are so many great seminars and tastings to choose from April 20-22 during SAVOR Weekend! Some of the more unique are the ones featuring North Carolina products – Vodka made from muscadine grapes, Bitters made from grapefruit, lavender and hibiscus, and the history of moonshine in North Carolina and its beginnings with Jack Daniels.

Turchin Center
The Nile Project
Sunday, April 2nd
Admission is always FREE!

2:30 pm - 4 pm: Panel Discussion "River Stories" at Turchin Center Lecture Hall.

A collective of 35 musicians from 11 Nile countries will make sounds reflecting a remarkable synthesis of highly diverse rhythms and tonal systems, lyrics sung in numerous languages and instruments ranging from Kenyan kettledrums to Egyptian flutes.

Village Café, Downtown Blowing Rock will reopen for the season on April 7th! April hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 8 am – 2 pm.

Home from three combat tours in Iraq, Alex Sutton forges a new identity as a farmer hatching chicks and raising goats on 43 acres in rural North Carolina.

Trail Communities Conference

The goal of the “trail communities” conference is to help leaders of communities along the Mountains-to-Sea Trail (MST) learn more about the status of the MST statewide and learn from experts who can help you plan, build and market your part of the MST.
