Downtown Kiosks Receive 10,000+ Visitor
Interactions in 2018!

In partnership with
the TDA, we are constantly promoting our members through our
digital kiosks downtown. After working out a few kinks in the
beginning, these units have been so well received by visitors
that Meridian Kiosks (the company that installed the kiosks) is
using Blowing Rock in their marketing videos including interviews
with Loni Miller and Tracy Brown. Check it out!

While the
next census itself will be taken in 2020, the Census Bureau is
already recruiting to fill important positions. They plan to
recruit and employ thousands of Americans as Census Takers throughout
the country. All counties are still in need of
applicants!

this Friday, August 23rd!

Donation
drop off site: Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce
1 in 4 children in the
High Country do not get enough to eat on a regular basis. The
Hunger and Health Coalition has an impactful program that we
support, and they need non-perishable item donations.

Fill
the bag with non-perishable items, when you can.

Volunteers
from Hunger & Health will pickup the donations from the
Chamber every other month.

Appalachian
State University’s performing arts series, “The Schaefer Center
Presents…” kicks off its 2019-20 season with a high-energy
concert by the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band (PHJB) on
Friday, Sept. 27 at 8 pm at the Schaefer Center for the Performing
Arts.

James H. Fisher International Grand Prix Coming to
Blowing Rock
|
World-class
competitors from multiple countries will be invited to Blowing
Rock for the $50,000 James H. Fisher International Grand Prix on Saturday,
Sept. 21, at the L.M. Tate Show Grounds, starting at 2 pm.
The day
will feature action on the track, but also a Calcutta auction,
with the winner receiving several prizes that will be
announced later. All Calcutta proceeds go to charity. Also
featured will be live music and food trucks.Tickets are $75 for premium
seats, which includes a special luncheon at 11 a.m., reserved box
seating and valet parking. General admission is $10. For ticket
