Blowing Rock Chamber Sponsors Local Scholarships for 3rd Year in a Row
The Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce sponsored scholarships for seven local students to attend the North Carolina School of Science & Math (NCSSM) Summer Accelerator program. 

The scholarships received funding from The Village Foundation, Blowing Rock Community Foundation, and the Kennedy-Herterich Foundation.



AppalCart Shuttle in Blowing Rock Runs on Saturdays Only
The free Appalcart shuttle in Blowing Rock will move to a Saturday-only schedule starting this weekend. The route is a loop from Green Park Inn to Tanger, and around to Main Street. It will continue on Saturdays, 10am-5pm, through October 28.



Another Shred Day in the books!
Thanks to those of you who came out for Shred Day at First Citizens. We are happy to provide this shredding service in partnership with First Citizens Bank each August.



Help Wanted: 2020 Census Takers
While the next census itself will be taken in 2020, the Census Bureau is already recruiting to fill important positions. They plan to recruit and employ thousands of Americans as Census Takers throughout the country. All counties are still in need of applicants!

Tanger Installed EV Charging Stations!
Tanger Outlets Blowing Rock has just completed installation of two double EV Charging Stations (total of 4 cars). They have been working diligently to improve their sustainability initiatives and offer more services to the community. The new stations are managed through ChargePoint and are 100% complimentary to all Tanger guests! Please help us spread to work about this wonderful new feature!

Rotary Charity Auction this Saturday, August 17th
·     Doors open at 3 pm
·     Silent auction from 3 - 5 pm
·     Live auction begins at 5 pm

This year marks the 7th auction with proceeds to date of over $168,000. 100% of funds raised are fed directly into the high county through the many wonderful organizations of the area. Food and refreshments will be served. Come enjoy a fun time for a great cause!



Riders in the Sky at Tweetsie this weekend
Come hear America's favorite Cowboys, as this Grammy Award-winning quartet sing and entertain audiences "the Cowboy Way". Performances at Noon and 3 pm.

MacHouse Designs is located at 1516 Main Street in the old Storie’s carpet building. Owned by Scott & Maria Coombes, Maria is a local interior decorator.

James H. Fisher International Grand Prix Coming to Blowing Rock
World-class competitors from multiple countries will be invited to Blowing Rock for the $50,000 James H. Fisher International Grand Prix on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the L.M. Tate Show Grounds, starting at 2 pm.

The day will feature action on the track, but also a Calcutta auction, with the winner receiving several prizes that will be announced later. All Calcutta proceeds go to charity. Also featured will be live music and food trucks.Tickets are $75 for premium seats, which includes a special luncheon at 11 a.m., reserved box seating and valet parking. General admission is $10. Dog Weekend at the Horton Hotel
