Tanya’s Decor is run by seasonal Blowing Rock resident Tanya Herbert. She can refresh your home by rearranging your cherished belongings, sometimes swapping entire rooms, adding fresh paint or a hanging a few new pieces on the walls. Westglow Resort & Spa has been nominated in USA Today's 10Best contest in the Best Health & Wellness Resort category. Voting is open until August 6th. You can vote daily without registration. 



The Gamekeeper Christmas in July Special

An Appalachian Summer Festival
Now - August 4th
Each July, Appalachian State University presents a series of concerts, films, dance performances, and lectures as part of their Appalachian Summer Festival. Still to come this month: The Hot Sardines, Broyhill Chamber Ensemble, Rhiannon Giddens, BODYTRAFFIC, and more. Kristen Chenoweth will close out the season on August 4th.



Celtic Time Machine
July 21st at 7:30 pm
Enjoy Americana, Celtic, folk, New Age, Flamenco, Renaissance as well as some classical music at the Blowing Rock School auditorium.



Summer Concert: Ken Frazell & Jodi Burns
July 22nd at 4 pm
This concert will take place in Blowing Rock Art & History Museum's intimate Atrium, which seats 60 guests. Seating is first come, first served.



Moses Cone Memorial Park Rehabilitation Update
July 24th, 5 - 7 pm
Join the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation for a wine and cheese reception at the American Legion, Downtown Blowing Rock. Update remarks and Q&A begin at 5:45 pm.



Bass Lake Family Bike Day
July 25th
The Blue Ridge Parkway is opening the trail around Bass Lake to bicycle traffic for a single day, special event!



60th Annual Blowing Rock Tour of Homes
July 27th, 9 am - 5 pm
The annual Tour of Homes, sponsored by St. Mary of the Hills Episcopal Church, opens the doors to some of Blowing Rock’s most special private homes! This tour offers an opportunity to admire the special features and furnishings that have been cherished by homeowners for generations.



Watauga Humane Society Rummage Sale
July 27th & 28th
The sale will be at the National Guard Armory off State Farm Road in Boone. The Watauga County Humane Society relies on the rummage sale to generate much needed funds for the adoption center. All proceeds from the sale go to the care and feeding of the animals awaiting their new homes.



Rosen Sculpture Walk
July 28th at 10 am
The Rosen Sculpture Walk begins with a brief introduction at the Schaefer Center. It is free, open to the public, and includes stops at ten sculptures providing an opportunity to learn more about each work and its artist. The walk concludes at the Schaefer Center with the naming of the top winners followed by a reception. Read More



Artist Reception
July 28th, 11 am - 5 pm
Alta Vista Gallery has a new art show hanging now through August 14th, “Contemporary Impressionism,” 30 oils by Linville Ridge artist Joan Sporn who died this year following a battle with cancer. Alta Vista represented Sporn for 21 years and is hosting a reception for her show on July 28th. The public is invited to drop in to meet her sons and mingle with others to celebrate together how her work mirrors her life. Refreshments will be served.



The Denim Ball
August 3rd at 6 pm
Join the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation at Chetola Resort for a fun-filled fundraising ball to benefit Moses H. Cone Memorial Park. Enjoy dinner, drinks, auction, and live music!
