60th Annual Blowing Rock Tour of Homes

The annual
Tour of Homes, sponsored by St. Mary of the Hills Episcopal
Church, opens the doors to some of Blowing Rock’s most special
private homes! This tour offers an opportunity to admire the
special features and furnishings that have been cherished by homeowners
for generations.

Watauga Humane Society Rummage Sale
July 27th & 28th
|
The sale
will be at the National Guard Armory off State Farm Road in
Boone. The Watauga County Humane Society relies on the rummage
sale to generate much needed funds for the adoption center. All
proceeds from the sale go to the care and feeding of the animals
awaiting their new homes.

Rosen Sculpture Walk

The Rosen
Sculpture Walk begins with a brief introduction at the Schaefer
Center. It is free, open to the public, and includes
stops at ten sculptures providing an opportunity to learn more
about each work and its artist. The walk concludes at the
Schaefer Center with the naming of the top winners followed by a

Alta Vista
Gallery has a new art show hanging now through August 14th,
“Contemporary Impressionism,” 30 oils by Linville Ridge artist
Joan Sporn who died this year following a battle with
cancer. Alta Vista represented Sporn for 21 years and is
hosting a reception for her show this Saturday, July
28th. The public is invited to drop in to meet her sons and
mingle with others to celebrate together how her work mirrors her
life. Refreshments will be served. 10% of proceeds will be donated
to cancer research.

in the Washington, D.C. area. He is known as “The American
Songster” since his repertoire of music covers nearly 100 years
