Sales & Use Tax
Thursday, August 17th at 11:30 am
Catawba Valley Community College

This FREE workshop will cover the basics of tax compliance ranging from registering for a sales and use tax account, learning about the most common types of sales and use taxes collected, and preparing and filing a sales and use tax return.

Nashville Songwriters Association International Meeting and Concert
Saturday, August 13th at 2 pm
Watauga County Public Library

The Appalachian chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Association International meets on the second Saturday of each month at the Watauga County Library. It is free and open to all aspiring songwriters and often features special guests and workshops. Bring your instrument and share your songs with other songwriters.

Concert in the Park: NSAI will be performing this Sunday, August 13th at 4pm in the gazebo at Memorial Park, Downtown Blowing Rock.

A Starry Night

The evening begins with A Moveable Feast featuring dinners in private homes, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Then, the party moves to BRAHM for All That Jazz, an after party of cocktails, dessert, jazz and more, from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Learn More

American Legion

Fun, food and wine!

Doors open at 3 pm, silent auction ends at 5:30 pm. Live auction at 5 pm.

All proceeds are returned to High Country charities. Over the last 4 years over $105,000 has been given to benefit our community.

Eclipse Party

View one of nature’s most awe-inspiring events!

The Nature Museum will host arts and crafts activities for kids, solar-themed snacks and face-painting. At 1:30 pm, pick up your solar eclipse glasses and head to the Mile High Swinging Bridge for an unabated view of the partial solar eclipse.
