11th Annual Hometown Harvest
November 11th, 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Join friends, neighbors and community members at the Blowing Rock School Gym for a community covered dish supper. Bring your favorite dish to share! Donations for Blowing Rock Cares and Casting Bread Food Pantry will also be collected.

Students Salute Veterans
TODAY! November 8th at 12:45 pm
Blowing Rock First Graders will present "A Salute to Veterans" in the school auditorium. Open to the community and veterans.

Food Drive
November 10th - 24th
In the spirit of giving during the Holiday Season, J.McLaughlin will have a food drive for Blowing Rock Cares. This will culminate with a Sip and Shop on November 24th with 15% of the proceeds going to Blowing Rock Cares. The following items tend to dispense most rapidly: canned soups, canned fruit in light syrup and canned beans. Also needed are hygiene products such as travel size toothpaste, wrapped bars of soap, bathroom tissue and small bottles of hand lotion. Please bring your donations by J. McLaughlin.


Spirit Night Fundraiser
November 15th, 5 - 9 pm
Grab some food and beverages at Town Tavern and let your server know you're there to support Blowing Rock School. This night is to raise funds for teacher and staff requests. Be sure to thank the staff and Justin Davis for their generosity!


TAC Talk: The Edible South: The Power of Food and the Making of an American Region
November 15th at 6 pm
Thursday Art and Culture (TAC) Talks bring collegiate level lectures to the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum. The experience of food serves as an evocative lens onto colonial settlements and antebellum plantations, New South cities and Civil Rights-era lunch counters, chronic hunger and agricultural reform, counterculture communes and iconic restaurants of the evolving South. In this session, Dr. Ferris will explore how food - as cuisine and as commodity - has expressed and shaped southern identity to the present day.



Open House
December 1st, 10 am - 6 pm
Due to an illness in the family, Bolick & Traditions Pottery has canceled the Annual Thanksgiving Wood Kiln Opening this year. However, you are invited to join them for their first ever Open House at their Blowing Rock store. Shop for special pieces such as Santa Face Jugs, Swirl Vases, Teapots, Owl Mugs and more. Be present at 10 am for the best selection.

November 9th at 11 am
The Annual Veterans Day Ceremony for American Legion 256 will be held in the American Legion building in Blowing Rock. All are invited to honor veterans.
