Blowing Rock Receives National Recognition
Blowing Rock received a 5-star rating and special recognition for its flowers at the 2018 America in Bloom National Awards program held in Lexington, Kentucky. America in Bloom is the only national awards program that sends specially trained judges to personally visit participants. Each participant receives a detailed written evaluation that can be used as a guide for future improvements.



11th Annual Hometown Harvest
November 11th, 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Join friends, neighbors and community members at the Blowing Rock School Gym for a community covered dish supper. Bring your favorite dish to share! Donations for Blowing Rock Cares and Casting Bread Food Pantry will also be collected.

Plan Ahead for Thanksgiving Weekend
Several area restaurants and eateries will be open for Thanksgiving dining. We encourage you to call now for reservations; most seatings will sell out!

Don't miss Christmas in the Park on Friday, November 23rd and the Holiday Parade on Saturday, November 24th!

Plus, the local Choose & Cut Christmas Tree season gets underway during Thanksgiving weekend. Make time to get your family tree at a local farm!

The Annual Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce Holiday Party is just around the corner. Join us December 11th at 6 pm at the Inn at Crestwood. Tickets are $25 per person.

Real Estate Report
The summer months are known for being the busiest time of the year in the local real estate market. The season just completed followed that trend. Local Realtors recorded sales 5 percent higher this summer than in the same period last year. The average sale price was also up.

Chetola Resort Says 'Leave the Driving to Us'
Chetola Resort has made a first-class investment in its valued guests with the purchase of a 15-passenger Ford Transit Conversion van. For the winter ski season, Chetola will offer daily round-trip shuttle service to Appalachian Ski Mountain exclusively for guests of the resort. Read More


Food for Kids
Through November 4th
Now until November 4th, when you purchase a pair of Merrell Footwear at Mast Store, Merrell will donate funds to fill a backpack with food for the weekend. Hunger and Health Coalition will then fill backpacks with kid-friendly foods to last a weekend, when kids are without the services found in schools and aftercare programs. Read More



St. Mary's Choir Concert
November 4th at 2 pm
The Choir of St. Mary of the Hills invites you to BRAHM for the Feast of All Souls. The Choir of St. Mary of the Hills is a gem in our little mountain town. They have performed nationally in Washington DC, New York, Georgia and the Carolinas. They also regularly travel to England for training and performances.



Students Salute Veterans
November 8th at 12:45 pm
Blowing Rock First Graders will present "A Salute to Veterans" in the school auditorium. Open to the community and veterans.

High Country Turkey Trot 5K
November 22nd at 9 am
For the eighth consecutive year, the High Country Turkey Trot 5K will take place Thanksgiving morning on the Boone Greenway Trail at Clawson-Burnley Park. Everyone is welcome to participate, including families with children, strollers and pets on a leash. All participants are asked to bring non-perishable food items for donation to the Hospitality House Bread of Life Hunger Relief program. Read More

Christmas Parade Entries
It's that time of year again! Make sure you register for the Blowing Rock Christmas Parade! There will be a contest for best decorated float! 



Town Semi-Annual Water Line Flush
November 6th - 8th
The Town of Blowing Rock is planning the second of its two semi-annual “flushings” of the water lines. Some customers may briefly experience a temporary slight discoloration of water. If this happens, please run your cold water faucet to flush out the service line to your property. For rare but occasional extended discoloration, please contact Town Hall at 828.295.5200.
