The Rosen Sculpture Competition Winners Announced
|
During the
last weekend in July, a record 168 art enthusiasts attended
the Rosen Sculpture Walk with the Jurors. This
year’s jurors, Daniel T. Beck and Ian Henderson, both from the
Penland School of Crafts, offered participants a compelling
narrative of each sculpture as the group visited each of the ten
works located on campus in the vicinity of the Schaefer Center
for the Performing Arts.

Can you Help?
|
The Blue
Ridge Parkway Foundation’s Volunteer Corps is supporting our
local Park Service with volunteers to help paint the comfort
stations at Price Campground. There are 7-8 buildings that
need priming and painting. All supplies are supplied by the
Park Service. If you would like to participate on August 16
(9 am - noon) and/or August 20, 21, 27, 28, and 30 (9 am - noon
and 1 pm - 4 pm) please complete the volunteer
agreement & waiver and email them to Clary Pickering.

Women-Only Shotgun and Pistol Courses Focus on Fundamentals and
Safety

The
world’s fastest growing demographic in the firearms world can
take classes with fellow female enthusiasts. No boys allowed. The
Women-Only Basic Shotgun Course takes place on August 12th with
Women-Only Basic Pistol a month later on September 9th. The hands-on
courses focus on firearm safety and the fundamentals of
