Art in the Park
August 11th, 10 am - 5 pm
Join us on Park Avenue, Downtown Blowing Rock for some of the best local and regional handcrafted jewelry, pottery, fiber, glass, photography, paintings, and more.

Free parking downtown on the street and in the parking decks on Wallingford Street and at BRAHM. Free trolley from Tanger Outlets and Food Lion, all day, looping every 20 minutes.



Sunday Concerts in the Park
August 12th, 4 - 6 pm
Free, family-friendly and casual! Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Memorial Park, Downtown Blowing Rock and enjoy Soul Americana music by Ashley Heath.



State of the Town
August 16th, 5:30 - 7 pm
Come hear about this year's successes, current challenges, and the future of our village.

In addition to the regular agenda which includes the Town of Blowing Rock, the TDA, and the Chamber, we will host the US Chamber to present Congresswoman Virginia Foxx a Spirit of Enterprise Award at the beginning of the program.

The Rosen Sculpture Competition Winners Announced
During the last weekend in July, a record 168 art enthusiasts attended the Rosen Sculpture Walk with the Jurors. This year’s jurors, Daniel T. Beck and Ian Henderson, both from the Penland School of Crafts, offered participants a compelling narrative of each sculpture as the group visited each of the ten works located on campus in the vicinity of the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts.

Can you Help?
The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation’s Volunteer Corps is supporting our local Park Service with volunteers to help paint the comfort stations at Price Campground. There are 7-8 buildings that need priming and painting. All supplies are supplied by the Park Service. If you would like to participate on August 16 (9 am - noon) and/or August 20, 21, 27, 28, and 30 (9 am - noon and 1 pm - 4 pm) please complete the volunteer agreement & waiver and email them to Clary Pickering.


The Chetola Sporting Reserve’s NRA-Sanctioned Women-Only Shotgun and Pistol Courses Focus on Fundamentals and Safety
The world’s fastest growing demographic in the firearms world can take classes with fellow female enthusiasts. No boys allowed. The Women-Only Basic Shotgun Course takes place on August 12th with Women-Only Basic Pistol a month later on September 9th. The hands-on courses focus on firearm safety and the fundamentals of marksmanship. Read More

Cork & Canvas
August 11th at 10 am
Create art in a relaxed atmosphere at Blowing Rock Art & History Museum. Each participant goes home with a finished work of art inspired by Claude Monet's "Grainstacks at the End of Summer, Morning Effect". All materials are provided. Wine and light snacks are complimentary. Seating is limited.



The Noel Friedline Quartet
August 12th at 5 pm
The High Country Jazz Society's August concert features the Noel Freidline Quartet at the Meadowbrook Inn. This popular, dynamic group will present a musical tribute to the Modern Jazz Quartet!



Blowing Rock Community Foundation Days
August 17th - 31st
The Blowing Rock Community Foundation raises funds to be used exclusively for the benefit of the Blowing Rock Community. Proceeds from these events will go towards their mission to raise and award charitable contributions to non-profit organizations (501c3) and scholarships that benefit the Blowing Rock Community.
