NC Chamber Opposes Inflation Reduction Act |
The NC Chamber joined more than 250 state and local chambers of commerce and national trade associations as one of two North Carolina groups (along with NC Chamber Federation member the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce) in a letter opposing the Inflation Reduction Act last week. While there are parts of the bill that would advance progress on climate and energy security, the benefits of these provisions do not outweigh the negative impacts in the legislation. North Carolina did not become the top state for business by accident and has encouraged our Congressional delegation to oppose anything that threatens our ability to compete. |

| High Country Real Estate Report |
High Country Realtors® saw a subtle slowdown in July, compared to previous years. The High Country MLS reports that in July 224 homes were sold worth a combined total of over $119 million, 195 of those sold locally in Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, and Watauga counties contributing to $107 million of that recorded sales volume. This is a 14 percent decrease in closed sales, and a 6 percent increase in sales volume compared to July of last year.

| Our SC location has been in operation since 2001, however our family's experience in the stone industry dates back to the 1970's. At that time, our founder, GK Naquin, was a partner in a New Orleans based company whose primary focus was the fabrication and installation of stone facades on high rise commercial buildings across the United States. Out of our SC location, we service customers in the entire state of South Carolina and into Western North Carolina. GK moved to Blowing Rock in 2018 and recognized the need for quality and timely installation of countertops and began servicing the Western North Carolina area. This move to Western North Carolina is now one of the most active locations for Stone Interiors.
