What is going on at the Chamber?

We are quickly approaching 2021 and that means we've got a lot going on to get ready for the new year! Don't miss out on taking advantage of your membership by skipping these opportunities:

  • Member to Member Loyalty Card - this card is to promote Chamber Members supporting each other! Offer a small discount or special rate to fellow Chamber members . Email Regina by December 18th to be included.

  • Chamber Directory & Visitors Guide Ads - our Chamber Directory is printed every year and has a distribution over 12,000+. Would you like to include an ad to further promote your business? Email Regina by December 16th (it's not too late!)to be included. New this year - we are offering design services.

  • Blowing Rock WinterFest - is on its way! The order deadline for an ice sculpture is December 28th. Email Suzy to participate in WinterFest.
App Regional Healthcare will receive 800 doses of Moderna Vaccine
On Tuesday, Dec. 15, Appalachian Regional Healthcare System was notified by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services that it would receive 800 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, as part of NCDHHS’s Dec. 21 weekly allocation.

"We were told yesterday that our first allocation of vaccines will ship to us next week," ARHS President and CEO Chuck Mantooth said. “So it appears that Christmas will come early. Our organization has been anxiously awaiting this news for several weeks. This is overwhelmingly good news.”

WinterFest January 28-31
This year we will not be hosting the Polar Bear Plunge or any ticketed events, but we working on creating a fun weekend focused on celebrating the restaurants, shops, and outdoor activities in Blowing Rock.

Boone Real Estate Report
In a year of milestones for High Country real estate sales local REALTORS® recently eclipsed a new one - the $1 billion sales mark.
Through the end of November High Country REALTORS® sold a record 2,960 residential homes worth $1.06 billion. That’s a 43 percent increase from 2019 and double the sales from 2017, according to the latest real estate report from the High Country Association of REALTORS®.
The value was boosted in great part by the sale of million-dollar properties. There have been 134 such homes sold in the four-county area this year; 19 for more than $2 million. That’s according to the High Country Multiple Listing Service (MLS) which tracks sales from REALTORS® active in Alleghany, Ashe, Avery and Watauga counties.
Yosef Media Live Streams
App State Wrestling Events
Appalachian State University has signed a limited license agreement with Yosef Media LLC, producer of The Grind, a multimedia channel that focuses on App State wrestling. Yosef Media will have the right to produce and live stream App State wrestling events through the 2022 season. Yosef Media has partnered with Rokfin to be the streaming platform used by The Grind for the 2020 Southern Conference schedule.

Rumple Christmas
Thursday, December 24th Christmas Eve
11am-3pm. Come by the Rumple Sanctuary (mask and social distance) to visit and enjoy a moment of Christmas Eve peace and listen to the Silent Night Virtual Congregational Singing
  • 4:00pm Pre-Recorded Christmas Eve Nativity Service. Join our young families and youth for this online service premiering on our Youtube and Facebook pages.
  • 5:30pm luminaries will be lit.
  • 6:00pm Parking Lot Christmas Eve liturgy and luminary drive through.
