Cycle NC - this weekend!
The Cycle North Carolina Mountains to the Coast ride begins this weekend in Blowing Rock.
Over 900 cyclist will be in town starting Friday evening, filling restaurants, hotels and shops! Plan for the crowd! They will depart Sunday morning for their ride to the coast.

The Blowing Rock Chamber Candidates Forum will be held on October 14th at the Blowing Rock School Auditorium beginning at 5:30 pm.
The Blowing Rock Civic Association Candidates Forum will be held on October 3rd at the American Legion with a social at 6:15 and the forum at 7 pm.

Gaines Kiker Celebrates 25 Years in Business!!

Blowing Rock's talented silversmith, Gaines Kiker, will celebrate 25 years with an Open House on October 5th! All are invited- hours are 1-5 pm. Gaines Kiker would like to thank the many clients, visitors and the community for their patronage, support and encouragement throughout his 25 years in business. Be sure to stop in to offer congratulations on this milestone!

Sign-Up to Design a Tree at Festival of Trees by Oct. 5th!
Design a tree in support of WYN (Western Youth Network). Your tree will be seen by hundreds of people and auctioned to benefit WYN. Tree themes are first come, first served.

AppState Theatre and Dance Showcase Begins TODAY at 7 pm, thru Sunday
The Appalachian State University Department of Theatre and Dance proudly presents its first production of the season, the 2019 First Year Showcase. The production takes place in I.G. Greer Studio Theatre on the university campus with 7 p.m. performances from Thursday, September 26 through Saturday, September 28 and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, September 29. Ghost Train Time at Tweetsie!

Firefly Nights Family-Fun at Mystery Hill every Fri. & Sat.
Mystery Hill presents Firefly Nights on Tomahawk Hill, 5-9pm on Fridays & Saturdays through October 26! A fun family-friendly evening of knife and axe throwing, archery, blowguns, corn hole, darts, ring toss, music, and hanging by the fire pit making smores. Front Porch Eats will be open and serving a plethora of food options. Wrist bands for unlimited throws are $20 for adults and $15 for kids 4-12 - kids under 4 are free. Fall Exhibition Celebration at the Turchin Center!
Friday, Oct. 4th from 6 - 10 pm
During Boone's Downtown Art Crawl

During this event the Turchin Center will feature six exhibitions, including the opening of
Keith Bryant: Metaphorical Reality in the Mayer Gallery.

Numerous exhibiting artists will be on-hand to meet visitors and provide insight into their intriguing work.

The musical group Belleville Rendezvous will perform, refreshments and a cash bar will also be available. This event is free and open to the public.
