Meet the Candidates Forum


The annual Watauga County Meet the Candidates Forum is scheduled for Thursday, October 6th, from 5:00-9:30pm. The event is co-hosted by the Boone Area & Blowing Rock Chambers of Commerce. For those who cannot attend, this will be broadcast live from the Appalachian Theatre in Downtown Boone.

People You Should Know

James Pearson


James is the new Executive Director of the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum. He comes to BRAHM from the Homer and Dolly Hand Art Center at Stetson University where he served as Director and as a professor in Museum Studies. He previously served as the Director of the Southwest Museum of Photography in Daytona Beach, Florida. A native of Candler, NC, Pearson completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina, Asheville and holds an MA in Art History & Criticism from Stony Brook University. James, his wife Molly, and their two daughters are excited to make the High Country their home and look forward to becoming members of the Blowing Rock community.
