Green Hill Traffic Study
The Green Hill Road Traffic Study is analyzing traffic and safety concerns on Green Hill Road in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. The study will be analyzing the full length of Green Hill Road, from US 321 (Lenoir Turnpike) to the Blue Ridge Parkway. A four-question survey and an interactive map will gather input from citizens; both are active now. The public survey is will close midnight on June 16th.


The Blowing Rock Young Professionals group met yesterday for the first time in a year! Thank you, Hellbender Bed & Beverage for hosting!

The Historical Society celebrated the grand re-opening of the 1888 Museum! The Museum is located right on Main Street in Memorial Park.
Business Before Hours
Chetola Resort will host Business Before Hours on Wednesday, June 8th from 8:30am-9:30am. Coffee and lite breakfast will be served.

Quiet Givers Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to serve the people of the North Carolina High Country - covering Watauga, Ashe, and Avery counties. It is a source for people to find out about specific needs in the community and do something about them. Area nonprofits, social workers, schools and other community organizations send us needs that they are having trouble meeting through existing funds or programs. Our connection to the local community allows us to meet needs in creative ways in order to change the reality of local people who are genuinely struggling.

Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church located on Main Street is hosting a Prayer Walk on their grounds.

This is a self guided walk and will be available all weekend starting, Saturday, May 29th.

Caldwell Hospice
Virtual Volunteer Training
June 15 & 17, 2021
Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference? Do you have the compassionate spirit needed to be a companion for someone’s journey? In partnership with Caldwell Hospice staff, volunteers serve an essential role in patient and family support, administrative and community support.
Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care is hosting a two-day virtual training in June for adults and teens who are interested in becoming hospice volunteers and volunteers. This training will be held Tuesday, June 15, from 8:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., and Thursday, June 17, from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. via Zoom video conferencing. To reserve a spot in the Zoom training, participants must complete an application at www.caldwellhospice.org/give-volunteer.
