Here is a list of restaurants open on Thanksgiving Day.

The Chamber will be closed Thanksgiving day and will re-open for visitors 9 am- 5 pm Friday & Saturday.


Blowing Rock Christmas Festival
Friday, November 29:
·     1:00-3:30 pm Meet Santa!
·     2:00-4:00 pm Games and Crafts in Memorial Park
·     2:00-7:00 pm Hayrides through Blowing Rock
·     4:00 pm- Gingerbread House Contest winner announced! Bring a decorated gingerbread house to enter!
·     4:00-7:00 pm Free Hot Cocoa & Apple Cider
·     2:30-7:00 pm Live Music
·     5:45 pm Lighting of the Town

All events take place in Memorial Park, right on Main Street in downtown Blowing Rock. The American Legion building is located just behind the park.

Don’t miss the parade on Saturday, November 30 at 2:00 pm!


BRAHM Open House
Blowing Rock Art & History Museum is hosting a Holiday Open House on Saturday, Nov 30th featuring a fun afternoon of crafts, cider, cards, cookies, and the chance to meet Mrs. Clause from 3 pm-4 pm.

While there, be sure to check out their new winter exhibits and the last day of the Cone Sister exhibit. The museum will be open for extended hours on 11/30 from 10 am - 6 pm.

Thanksgiving Kiln Opening
Sat. Nov. 30th by there by 10 AM
4443 Bolick Rd, Lenoir, North Carolina 28645

Bolick & Traditions Pottery host their annual kiln opening at their studio.

You'll find Santa Face Jugs by Michael Calhoun, Swirl vases, & teapots by Lula Owens Bolick, and Glenn Bolick. Owl mugs by Lula and Ina Owens Bolick. Janet Bolick Calhoun will have teapots, Rebekah pitchers, and candlesticks.



Alta Vista Gallery Open House
Please bring friends and come celebrate with Alta Vista on Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Annual Christmas Open House, from 10 am to 5 pm.

The gallery is decorated for Christmas, and there will be have refreshments, including Christmas cookies, wines, hot cider, and other goodies. This is their way of saying THANK YOU for letting them serve you for 30 years!

The gallery will be showing a variety of canvas sizes, ranging from 30 x 40 inches down to 4 x 4 inches, small enough to sit on a tabletop easel or inside bookshelves -- small sizes to give as GIFTS!





Tweetsie Christmas
Tweetsie Christmas will be open Friday and Saturday from 5 pm - 10 pm.

The event is open every Friday and Saturday night through December 28th.

Festival of Lights at Chetola
The Festival of Lights will begin on Friday, Nov. 29th and will run through WinterFest weekend in January.

You can also find carriage rides, cookie decorating, and visits with Santa this weekend at Chetola. For more information visit their website.


Festival of Trees
5th Annual Festival of Trees!
Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock
Thursday, Dec. 5 - Sunday, Dec. 8

75+ trees & wreaths on display, auctioned to benefit the Western Youth Network.

Join Western Youth Network at Chetola Resort as they transform the Evergreen room into a Christmas spectacle, and raise funds for Western Youth Network through admission donations and the purchase of these festive trees and wreaths!





Tanger Outlets Tree Lot
Tanger Outlets Blowing Rock will host a Christmas Tree Lot again this year, Open now through Christmas with operating hours from 10 am-7 pm daily. They will be set up in the parking lot next to the entrance to Tanger.
