Update: Legislative Trip to Raleigh
Last week, we traveled to Raleigh to meet with other Chambers and our State legislature to represent Blowing Rock and our needs for funding.

Recap: Ribbon Cutting at
945 Main Street
Local Real Estate Agent and Blowing Rock Resident, Virginia Powell and her husband Ben purchased and beautifully renovated the cottage at 945 Main Street, across from Mellow Mushroom in Downtown Blowing Rock. Yesterday afternoon, a ribbon cutting event was held at the property.



Art in the Park
THIS SATURDAY!

RAIN OR SHINE!

Art in the Park is host to over 90 juried artists at each show. Some of the best local, regional, and nationally known artists showcase their handcrafted jewelry, pottery, fiber, glass, photography, painting and more.

Free trolley from Tanger Outlets and Food Lion. Free parking downtown on the street and in the parking decks on Wallingford St. and at BRAHM. 



Concert in the Park
THIS SUNDAY!
June 17th, 4 - 6 pm in Memorial Park

Blowing Rock’s Concert in the Park Series is an annual set of free outdoor concerts. Always on Sundays following Art in the Park, the performances offer entertainment from a variety of musical genres. 

Family-friendly and casual. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy listening to Handlebar Betty!

Chetola Resort’s Corkscrew & Brew 5K Awards $1,500 to the Recipient of the Annual Charitable Race
Festivities surrounding Chetola Resort’s annual Corkscrew & Brew 5K are always exciting. But the extra spring in this race’s step - aside from the popular “non-hydration” wine and beer stations, of course - is that race director Gary Woolard makes sure someone in the local community benefits from all the fun and games. This year, more than 200 runners and walkers participated in the May 5 race, the net proceeds from which were dedicated to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association in honor of local two-year-old Levi Boyter, a kidney transplant recipient. On June 8, Woolard proudly presented a $1,500 check to Levi and his mother, Danielle Boyter. Read More

Blowing Rock Woodworks Announces Storefront Expansion
Blowing Rock Woodworks is excited to announce the growth of their storefront in Blowing Rock! "Our location at 109 Aho Road has grown over the years, first acting as our woodshop where everything was built and assembled. Now its transformed into our retail store! Our woodworkers and artisans currently work from our warehouse in Deep Gap, NC where they transform raw slabs into one of a kind, custom made furniture. We have recently expanded due to the growth and interest in our products! We are introducing a new product line - reclaimed boatwood!"  Read More

The National Park Service needs volunteers for Visitor Service Assistant at Linn Cove Viaduct, Linville Falls & Minerals Museum

Participants will greet visitors, operate the visitor center information desk, provide information and answer questions about the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding area, and provide trail directions.

Watauga Humane Society (WHS)

WHS will offer Reading for Paws for children in grades 2-8 at the WHS Adoption Center. The program is offered in two 30 minute segments, Tuesday-Thursday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. The program offers opportunities for children to read and interact with WHS animals. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Attractive Young People Singing is In/Visible Theatre's tribute to lesser-known songs from musical theatre. Artists present 'invisible' songs that deserve their turn at the microphone. This performance allows our energetic young people to give these musical gems their moment in the spotlight.


Mountain Home Music: The Family That Plays Together Stays Together

This Saturday, Alta Vista Gallery will receive 25 new Impressionist oils by Sheila Hancock. Her show, “Blue Ridge Skies” will hang from June 18th through July 14th. Bring friends and meet the artist at the gallery’s opening reception on June 23rd.
