Meet their team of coaches who work with thousands of runners from around the world who come to the High Country each year to improve their running.

ZAP Executive Chef, Michael Ryan will be preparing a number of specialties! A variety of local craft beer and quality American wines (red & white) will be served! The Gritlickers will be playing mountain music as you are led on a tour of the ZAP campus as well as administrative and lodging facilities.

Who Wants to go to CHINA?
Registrations are being taken now until July 1st to join the Blowing Rock, Wilkes, Avery, Boone, and Caldwell Chambers of Commerce for an adventure to CHINA!

The trip is October 26th - November 3rd. This 9-day package is $2,199 per person (double occupancy) and includes roundtrip airfare, 4 & 5 star hotel accommodations, 3 meals a day, deluxe bus tours, English speaking tour guides, and entrance fees for attractions.

Important Dates/Deadlines:
·     May 9th: Orientation
·     July 1: Balance of Trip Due
·     September 1: Last day to submit Visa's to Caldwell Chamber for processing

The 2017 Economic Census is Coming!
The US Census Bureau measures the nation's population once every 10 years. It also measures US businesses every 5 years with the Economic Census.

Companies who receive the 2017 Economic Census are required by law to respond.

The due date is June 12, 2018.

Featured on UNC-TV NC Weekend!
The Speckled Trout Restaurant & Bottle Shop is featured in the "House Special" segment on the latest NC Weekend. In the piece, general manager Foster Ramsey chats with Bob Garner about the concept of the bottle shop at the restaurant. Mr. Garner tries some of the food, as several of the restaurant's unique dishes are featured in detail.

TAC Talk: Work Songs and Labor Movement Songs of the South
Thursday, April 12th at 6 pm
Blowing Rock Art & History Museum

In this program, we'll be learning work songs and labor movement songs of the south. We will focus on themes from over two hundred years of Southern history including railroad work songs, oyster shucking songs, hollering, field songs, lullabies, and unions songs from the textile mills and coal mines.

Responsible Alcohol Seller
(RASP) Training

This class is open to all permitted operating businesses, as well as server/seller training for on-premise and off-premise business owners, managers, employees, potential permit holders and civic groups in Watauga County. Read More

39th Annual Blowing Rock
Trout Derby
Saturday, April 7th, Sunrise - 4 pm

First-place winners will receive trophies in five divisions: Men, Women, Girls (12-14) Boys (12-14) and Small Fries (11 and under). No entry fees are required and no pre-registration is necessary. 

Be sure to bring the kids by the Broyhill Derby Headquarters (108 Lakeside Drive) early for their bags and to collect an official Derby T-shirt for free!
