New Policy: Booth fees are not due until after Jury in February! Just pay $35 application fee at this time. Applications are only being taken via ZAPP.

Dr. Harry Davis Predicts 2018 to be the Best Economic Period in Years
The High Country Economic Kickoff Breakfast was held on January 9th. “I’m as positive about the economy right now as I have been in 10 years," said Davis, a professor of banking and economics for Appalachian State University and the North Carolina Bankers Association. The NC Department of Labor has begun accepting applications from businesses that qualify for a workplace safety award. Safety awards are presented to companies throughout the year that have demonstrated above-average worker safety and health programs. Read More

Chetola Spa and Recreation Center Director Hits Milestone
The end of 2017 marked a personal and professional milestone for Chetola Spa and Recreation Director Robyn Lindenmuth, whose combined departments reached the $1 million mark in annual revenue for the first time ever. It is a mark worth celebrating, as Lindenmuth is on the cusp of her 10-year anniversary, which she celebrates in February. Read More


Partnership Opportunity
The Office of Relocation and Dual Career Assistance within Appalachian State University is a new university program developed collaboratively by the Office of Academic Affairs and the Office of Human Resources. Its purpose is to support new and prospective faculty, staff and their dual career partners and families in relocating to the local community. Read More

WinterFashions Show

The newest winter and spring fashions will be featured from the area’s top retail stores! Come find out what you need in your closet!

Polar Plunge Brunch
Saturday, January 27th, 10 am - Noon
Timberlake's at Chetola Resort

Chetola will feature a Polar Plunge Brunch Buffet in Timberlake’s for those folks who don’t want to brave possibly frigid temps but still want to get in on the action. WBTV’s John Carter is returning to emcee and a videographer from the station will connect a live feed for viewing in the Timbers Room in conjunction with a special brunch buffet.
$22 adults; $16 children (12 and younger)
Includes iced tea, hot tea and coffee; does not include alcohol and gratuity.
