Art in the Park
LAST Show of the Season!

Art in the Park is host to more than 90 artists at each show. Some of the best local and regional artists and craftspeople showcase their handcrafted jewelry, pottery, wood, fiber, glass, photography, painting and more.

FREE parking downtown on the street and in the parking decks on Wallingford St. and at BRAHM.

Blowing Rock Young Professionals

An evening of networking, food and fun for young professionals (ages 21-45)! This evening is a "welcome back" party with cornhole, beer from Blowing Rock Ale House and wine.

Blue Ridge Mountain Club (BRMC)

BRMC welcomes the Ashe, Blowing Rock, Boone, Caldwell and Wilkes Chambers of Commerce to Business After Hours with a “Sneak Peek” of their amenity center! The event will be held on the “Event Terrace” of the new Village Center.

Upcoming at Blowing Rock Art and History Museum

Scholars & Scones: Black Mountain College
Thursday, October 12th at 11 am
Appalachian Studies graduate student Kelsey Wagner will speak about Black Mountain College, an experimental liberal arts school in Asheville, North Carolina, that was open from 1933-1957. Multiple departments across Appalachian State University are collaborating with BRAHM, Swannanoa Valley Museum and other venues to host exhibits, lectures and workshops that will highlight the importance of Black Mountain College within creative, educational, and political movements as an Appalachian phenomenon. Who the #$&% is Jackson Pollock?
Thursday, October 19th at 7 pm
Filmmaker Harry Moses offers humorous and revealing insight into the art authentication process in America by documenting the remarkable tale of a 73 year old former long haul trucker who was snubbed by the art establishment after purchasing a Jackson Pollock painting for five dollars at a local thrift shop. When Teri Horton purchased a painting by one of the twentieth century's most respected abstract expressionist artists, she never suspected that she would find herself struggling against some of the most powerful figures in the world of art.
