The Blowing Rock Farmers Market resumes today! The afternoon market is held each Thursday through mid-October. Local farmers will be on hand with produce, baked goods, flowers & more, and Highland Meadows will be grilling samples!

Downtown Blowing Rock

Participating Blowing Rock merchants invite you to join them for a "happy hour" style stroll where you can sip and shop in downtown stores. Stop by your favorite shops, or check out a new one before heading over to Music on the Lawn! Free refreshments at participating locations.

Blowing Rock Young Professionals Contradance
Monday, June 5th at 5:30 pm
Free and open to the public!
Blowing Rock Art & History Museum (BRAHM)

The Chamber and BRAHM welcome members of the BRYP, friends and coworkers to participate in a contradance. Contradance is a style of folk dance similar to square dancing set to the backdrop of Scotch-Irish inspired instrumental tunes.
No experience necessary!  A short demo of the steps will be provided before each set.

Register now for Watauga Humane Society's Reading for Paws!

Tuesday, June 13th - Friday, August 4th, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm (30 minute time slots), 3 days per week.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Each child will have the opportunity to read to, and interact with, one of the Center’s cats.

Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show
Beginning Thursday, June 8th!
Broyhill Equestrian Preserve

The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show is a long-standing tradition in Blowing Rock; the outdoor show has been held every year since 1923!

Saddlebred Show: June 8 - 11
Hunter/Jumper Show: July 25 - 30, August 1 - 6

General admission is $10/person per day (children 12 and under are free).

Blowing Rock Quilt Cooperative Launch Party
Friday, June 9th at 5 pm
American Legion Hall

Please join Roey and Katherine (of Roey's Quilts and The Mountain Thread Company) in celebrating the launch of the Blowing Rock Quilt Cooperative - a local network of fiber artisans with a goal to promote fresh approaches to traditional quilt artistry.  

Light refreshments and beverages will be served.


Blowing Rock Church Tour
Saturday, June 10th at 12:30 pm

St. Mary of the Hills Episcopal, Rumple Presbyterian, Blowing Rock Methodist, Mount Bethel, First Independent Baptist, Sandy Flat Baptist, Church of the Epiphany and St. Mark’s Lutheran will open their doors to visitors to view their interiors as well as learn about their history. Several churches will also offer a musical performance. The tour will end at BRAHM with a live concert starting at 5:00 pm featuring St. Mary’s choir and a Trio from Independent Baptist Church. Animal Birthday Party

Grandfather Mountain

Grandfather Mountain celebrates the birthdays of all the animals in the environmental wildlife habitats with games, contests, crafts and surprises. Grandfather’s habitat staff has prepared a fun-filled day for guests, as well as programs to celebrate its furry and feathered inhabitants.


Appalachian Nashville Songwriters  "How to Write Your First Song"

Have you ever asked yourself "I would like to write a song, how do I get started"? If so, this is the meeting for you! It's also a good opportunity for established songwriters to participate in the discussion and learn from others perspective and experiences. 
Afterwards listen to songs that songwriters have brought to share with the group.
